I spoke with Sonali Basak at Bloomberg about America’s housing shortage, and what our presidential candidates are trying to do about it. In our 30-minute interview, we touched on the key topics that matter to today's homebuilding industry—housing supply, demographics, down payment assistance, regulation, and immigration.
Sonali’s last question was, “Is housing becoming the new health care, where there needs to be more discussion around the price of homes in terms of what the government can do to help?” In Zonda’s opinion, no. As I mentioned in the interview, “Over time, as long as builders keep building, and as long as there’s a little bit of an increase in mobility, I think the market can work itself out.”
